Publication policy

The scientific journal "Statistics of Ukraine" adheres to the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and international standards of scientific publishing.

The editorial policy corresponds to:

  • Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE, Directory of Open Access Journals – DOAJ, Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association – OASPA, European Association of Scholarly Editors – EASE)

The journal provides:

  • transparency of submission, review and publication procedures;
  • independence and impartiality of editorial decisions;
  • prevention of plagiarism, falsification, fabrication and duplication of publications;
  • clear definition of the author's contribution;
  • resolution of conflicts of interest;
  • an open procedure for reviewing complaints and appeals;
  • a clearly defined retraction and correction policy.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF COPE, WAME, DORA, etc.

The editorial board of the journal adheres to the following principles and recommendations of international organizations:

  1. COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)

The journal adheres to the ethical standards set by COPE: transparency in the process of submission, review and publication of articles; impartiality and independence of editors and reviewers; academic integrity - avoiding plagiarism, falsification, double publications; correct authorship - clear identification of the contribution of each author; handling complaints - the presence of open and clear procedures for considering appeals and complaints about ethics; withdrawal and correction of articles - a clear procedure for retraction, corrections and error reports.

  1. WAME (World Association of Medical Editors,principles for editors of all sciences)

WAME recommendations: editorial independence - editors' decisions are made without pressure from sponsors, institutions or commercial interests; conflicts of interest - all authors, reviewers and editors are required to declare them; peer review - objective, fair and timely peer review is ensured; funding transparency - information about grants, sponsors and sources of research funding is disclosed; support for young scientists - publications by scientists at the initial stage of their careers are supported.

  1. DORA (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment)

The journal adheres to the principles of fair assessment of scientific activity: not only bibliometric indicators (impact factor, h-index) are taken into account, but manuscripts are evaluated for their quality, novelty, and contribution to science; various types of research results are valued - software, data, algorithms, technical solutions; interdisciplinary research is recognized as equivalent to classical publications.

  1. ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors– general principles for all sciences)

Authorship criteria – only someone who has made a significant contribution to writing the work is considered an author.

Research ethics – following the rules for working with data, human participants, and experiments.

Data openness – encouraging authors to preserve and provide access to research data.

 

Publication fee

Submission and publication of articles are free of charge. The journal does not charge a fee for submission, review, or publication of materials.
